Prof. Mordechai Kremnitzer

Prof. Mordechai Kremnitzer is a Senior Research Fellow at the Israel Democracy Institute.
Professor Kremnitzer is a professor emeritus of the Faculty of law at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and was its dean. He served also as president of the Israeli Press Council. He chaired several government committees, including the Committee to Examine the Use of Force by the Police, the Committee on Civic Education in Israel, the Committee on Discipline in the Civil Service. Kremnitzer drafted, together with Prof. S.Z. Feller the preliminary and general parts of Israel's Criminal Code. He led the Ministry of Justice team to reform the homicide offenses, a reform passed by the Knesset in 2019 Law.
